Faith Over Fear: Sharing the Hope of Easter Boldly
I woke up early this morning, as I often do, with Easter on my mind. It’s one of my favorite holidays—not just because of the family dinners, egg hunts, and the rare moments when our busy lives slow down long enough to come together—but because of what Easter truly represents: faith over fear.

It amazes me that Jesus, the Son of God, would leave the perfection of heaven to enter our broken world and give His life for us. I’m in awe of anyone who would lay down their life for another, but this wasn’t just anyone—this was God Himself. It’s the ultimate example of choosing faith over fear.
As I read Psalm 8 this morning, David’s words resonated deeply:
“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?”
— Psalm 8:3–4 (NIV)
He Died For Us
Who are we, that the Creator of the universe would care so much for us? Yet He not only cared—He died for us.
There have been times in my life when I knew the truth of the gospel but hesitated to share it. I feared offending someone or being judged. Oddly enough, I had no problem talking about politics, my favorite sports team, or a recipe I just tried. But when it came to the best news anyone could ever hear—that Jesus came, died, and rose again for them—I kept silent. It’s moments like these when I remind myself to choose faith over fear.
But Jesus didn’t shy away from people. He saw them—really saw them—and had compassion on them. In Matthew 9:36, it says:
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”
And in the very next verse, He said:
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
— Matthew 9:37–38 (NIV)
For EVERYONE
This Easter, as we dress up for church, enjoy our chocolate bunnies, and gather around the table for a meal, may we pause to remember why we celebrate. Let us reflect on the unimaginable love and sacrifice of Jesus. And may we remember that His gift wasn’t just for us—it was for everyone. Every nation, every race, every background. This is a celebration of faith overcoming fear.
John 3:16 reminds us:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
This Easter, let’s be the willing workers Jesus spoke about. Let’s trade fear for faith. Let’s boldly share the hope we’ve found in Him—not just in word, but in how we live, love, and serve. Let’s embody the spirit of faith over fear in everything we do.
Because the world still needs to know.
